Our First Married Christmas

We had a lot of egg nog mixed with Sprite. You will be tempted to say that sounds disgusting, trust me it is awesome; it's like an Italian soda with egg nog.

More Christmas after the jump

This was our first step in decorating for Christmas.

This is a handsome man picking out an adorable little tree.

same man making garland for said tree. We sat together on a couch watching silly Christmas movies making garland out of jute twine.

There he is again fashioning a little star out of sheet metal.

This is what it looks like to decorate a tree, wearing long johns and an old Albainan winter hat, while drinking   ghirardelli hot chocolate (it is the best).

This is our little Doug. He is a Conifer and we bought him so that we could someday plant our first Christmas tree in an yard. however, he was/is rather petite and so we also got another tree.

see above explanation for this, our other tree.

We did two Christmas celebrations. The first Christmas was just the two of us, a few days early. We had lasagna, sparkling cider, etc for Christmas Eve dinner. We woke up the next morning and found that Santa had left some San Pellegrino for us and a handful of other presents. Some of my presents can be seen above.  We each got the other some nice stuff and a beautiful but kinda impractical book. He got this one for me and I got this one from him; they are both delightful.

We went down a spent a few days with family. Eating lots of food, playing some games and laughing at crazy Christmas loving kids.

Now we are home surrounded by piles of laundry and loot from Christmas. We headed home early to get stuff put away and cleaned up. However, we got a bit distracted by the outlet malls on our way home, so early wasn't as early as planned and we have spent a lot of the day lounging and recouping from all the festivities. I am continually surprised at how delightfully exhausted a vacation will leave me feeling; I could sit like a log all night. But, it is getting later and I should unpack and put the laundry away so i can leave for work without crying tomorrow morning.

don't you wish everyday could be Christmas?
